The industrial estate burger sensation.

They're only open 3 days a week and they always sell out.

Alright?

Welcome aboard to the 541 of you who’ve joined us since last week. Today, we’re taking a short flight to an industrial estate in North Walsham. Given how windy it is in Norwich today, you should probably brace for some turbulence.

Seatbelts fastened, let’s get this bird in the air.

Kicked to the Kerb

In March 2024, 36-year-old Shaun Moore suffered life-changing injuries after a car pulled out on his motorbike.

“Long recovery ahead but I will get there! Thanks to all emergency services and passer bys that helped,” he said in a Facebook post shortly after the crash.

Back then, he ran a roofing and construction business, which he had to give up.

10 months later, in January 2025, Shaun and his wife Megan opened Kerbside Kitchen’s first physical location on an industrial estate in North Walsham.

Since opening, it’s been nothing short of a sensation.

What’s the food like?

Look, I haven’t had the chance to visit Kerbside Kitchen yet - not least because it’s only open for three days a week (Thurs, Fri, Sat) and, when it is open, the food usually sells out before it closes. Besides, I’m no food reviewer.

But that doesn’t matter, because a loud, bearded man on TikTok has already told me that it’s excellent. With his mouth full, no less.

Food Review Club visited Kerbside Kitchen a few weeks ago, raving about basically everything on the menu to his 900k+ followers. The video has been viewed nearly 300,000 times and, according to multiple sources, has sparked a 60% increase in sales.

If trendy industrial estate burger joint menus had a bingo card, Kerbside Kitchen’s menu would surely be flapping its arm about in glee shouting, “I’ve got a full house”. Expect to find words like “Smashed”, “Dirty” and “Loaded” everywhere.

This looks good if you’re a carnivore, but I’m assuming napkins are a must.

So what’s next for Kerbside?

A restaurant in Cromer

As a Norwich (or nearby) resident, you’re contractually obliged to look out of your window and loudly declare, “It’s looking nice today. Shall we go to Cromer?” at least three times a year.

When you do find yourself in Norfolk’s second-best seaside town (behind Great Yarmouth, obviously), I hope you’ll take a moment to remember this newsletter.

Such has been the hype around Kerbside Kitchen that, three months after opening their first location, they’re on the precipice of opening a restaurant in Cromer.

It was actually supposed to open last week (end of March, for those of you reading in the future), but after a quick stalk of their Facebook page, it appears a utility company called “Yu Energy” is to blame for the delay.

Still, they’re close. One can almost smell the loaded, dirty, smashed food sizzling away from here.

How can you consume Kerbside’s food?

For now, you’ll find them at Unit 2b Gaymers Way, North Walsham, NR28 02N, where they’re open Thursdays (09:00 - 14:30), Fridays (09:00 - 20:00) and Saturdays (09:00 - 14:30). I’d recommend pre-ordering here though, because they appear to sell out regularly:

You can also book them for private events and, as mentioned, assuming Yu Energy can get their shit together, they’ll be opening a restaurant in Cromer too.

It’d be great to get some feedback on these newsletters so I can make ‘em better. And if you want to join our team of Secret Hunters (also known as the (Sc)Avengers), just reply directly to this email.
